Carnivals

Well I've finally gotten around to being able to put together another Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll and although the number of submissions was actually quite high, it was unfortunately plagued with spam and things far, FAR off topic. Nothing against those people who submitted something off topic, but they don't get to be part of the carnival.

Even though my hometown and I have recently been buried under roughly 20 inches of snow (that's no joke or exaggeration, there literally was 20 inches that fell in 2 days and drifts of 3+ feet I shoveled from my driveway) I can smell something fun in the air.

And rising from the ashes of an... let's say interesting... year of 2010, we have the first Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll of 2011. In fact this is more than just the first carnival of 2011, but the first of what I am hoping is a bit of a rebirth for the Soul of Rock 'n' Roll.

Alright, finally time to put together another Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll. There has been plenty of submissions, a few that seemed pretty hilariously cynical (who am I to judge, but unfortunately not exactly on topic) and lots to weed out actually from two months worth of stuff... still more than few that were pretty cool... so here we go.

Carnival time again. A bit of a short and sweet one this month... well shorter than some but longer than others I guess... so I think we'll just get right to it.

Well, I think it's been roughly 5-7 months since the last Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll. According to my records it was March, but the last one actually published I think was January 2010. What can I say, things were extra stressful, extra hectic and extra time consuming for a while there...

It's Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll time again... the very first carnival of 2010. This month will be another more mellow carnival (at least compared to come of the massive ones of the past), but I'm not complaining. There were lots of interesting things submitted and I really enjoyed taking a read.

Well last month with the return to regular carnivals, we had the biggest carnival I've ever seen... and this month, perhaps ironically, we have the smallest. In fact, the carnival this month contained so few submissions I thought I forgot to make it available on BlogCarnival.com, but I didn't. I thought maybe there were problems with my carnival email, but there aren't.

Well now that the Soul of Rock 'n' Roll has returned in all it's rockin' glory, it seems about time for the Carnival of Rock 'n' Roll to return from it's dormancy as well. This carnival was definitely an interesting one to sort through though.

This month's carnival was almost delayed permanently due to a series of technical problems, but all the kinks have been worked out and we're now up and running better than ever. It looks to be a good one too... lots of variety, newcomers, welcome regulars... all sorts of good stuff.
